Scotland – A land of myths and legends

Today

Don’t we all know that day?

The day we all detest.

The day we all hope to avoid.

The day we get out of bed just to feel that

tense, anxious pain in our chests

eating away at our confidence.

The day we would rather stay at home

in the comfort of our warm bed

clutching on to our blanket like a safety ring

like letting go would mean drowning in

a sea of demise.

The day the silent snowfall doesn’t fill us

with joy instead our mind freezes at

the thought of what’s to come.

The day we can’t help but ask

why today?

Emilie Fell, 10b

"Who am I?"

Born into this mysterious place,

clueless,

your reward for winning the race,

one of two teams you have to be part of at the start,

no ifs, no buts,

even if it breaks your heart.

The one must like blue,

the other pink,

you like neither?

The hell do you think?!

So there you are,

hope seems distant, way too far,

but fret not, for you are not alone,

there are folks like you, still unknown.

You can create a third team, or even more,

you can create a place for everyone, unlike before,

we can all fit somewhere, we just need to explore!

Now stand up and chant a ballad,

because you and everyone else is valid.

Lebenspraktischer Englischunterricht

Our flea market game is fun!
